Pokémon Red, long-range trainer glitch

Which trainer gives which species?

The long-range trainer glitch spawns a wild Pokémon. The game picks its species from a number: the Special stat of the last Pokémon you battled. Every species carries its own number inside the game, and that order is not the Pokédex order. The table also gives the Special DV to aim for: the DVs are the four hidden values, 0 to 15, that decide a Pokémon's stats. Pick the species you want and the tool returns the Pokémon Red trainers that leave the right value, with their map and coordinates. All 334 placed trainers are worked out from the game's own data.

Trainers that produce this value

The species is decided by whichever enemy Pokémon is still out when the battle ends. Losing to it is enough, and does not use the trainer up. To target a mid-party slot, beat the ones before it, then let your team faint. The trainer must be on a different map from your anchor.

The Ditto route, when no trainer fits

Raise one of your own Pokémon to the Special value you need, send it against a wild Ditto, wait for Transform, then flee. The transformed Ditto becomes the last Pokémon battled. Here are the species, level and DV combinations that hit the value exactly, with zero stat experience.
